One of the things you will notice at ModernTribe is that we don't sell much sterling silver (beyond our jewelry collection). Silver is beautiful. But, darn it, my silver candlesticks cause me heartache every time I come across them in my pantry. They are nearly black with tarnish (despite the fact that I encased them in plastic wrap after their last polishing... mmm, pretty). I will keep the candlesticks because they were passed down to me from my parents... And I will likely pass on the burden to my daughter one day. However, pewter candlesticks are the ones I use and display on our shelves. You will find throughout the catalog that ModernTribe favors materials that don't require so much maintenance:
Pewter * Stainless Steel * Glass * Ceramic
And what is the seder plate (pictured above) by Piet Cohen made out of?
