The So Called Seder: A Hip Hop Haggadah - CD

Josh Dolgin conducts a mini hip hop symphony filled with old Jewish samples centered around the theme of the Passover Seder (it's what Jews do around Easter time to celebrate the exodus from Egypt) shmear it with a little love and create what some have hailed as “one of the greatest works of Jewish music in years.”

THE SO CALLED SEDER: A HIP HOP HAGGADAH features cameos by Wu Tang Clan's Killah Priest, Matisyahu, Mr. Bungle's Trevor Dunn, Montreal's queen of country Katie Moore, David Krakauer, Susan and Elaine Hoffman Watts, and more.

I love this album. It is, as one reviewer put it, "a sound collage" and not a traditional album of songs. And that's part of why I love it - a mix of beats, melodies, chants, spoken word, and prayer.
