... Or To Be Gayly Wedded. Way back in 2007, when we launched ModernTribe, we had a Jewish Wedding and "Commitment Ceremony" section. Now, "commitment ceremony" seems anachronistic... what a tribute to how far we've come as a society in 6 years! Surely, we have a long way to go: only Connecticut, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Vermont, and Washington—as well as the District of Columbia and three Native American tribes, allow same-sex marriage (and 31 states have constitutional restrictions limiting marriage to one woman and one man), but nearly half of Americans support the right. |
